Jaipur: The Electronics Corporation of India Ltd (ECIL) has manufactured multi-post single vote electronic voting machines (EVMs) specifically for Rajasthan, which will be ‘pink’ in colour. These will be deployed for the upcoming civic body elections. They have been made exclusively for the state and marked ‘SEC Rajasthan’, according to the state election commission (SEC). A single EVM is designed for elections spanning multiple posts. As per election rules, the EVM units will display ballots for the election of zila parishad member, panchayat samiti member, sarpanch and panch, the order stated. “A maximum of four ballot units (BUs) can be connected to 1 control unit (CU). The EVM ballot unit (BU) for the state has a total of 16 panels, but only 15 panels are required for contesting candidates (including NOTA),” the order said. TNN
