Jaipur: Padmaja Singh dominated the fourth day of the O N Dixit Memorial Jaipur District Winter Badminton Championships at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium here on Friday.Rising shuttler Padmaja bagged two titles and reached the finals of two more events to emerge as the star performer.Five finals were played on Friday. In the U-11 boys singles final, Naitik Bansal won the title by defeating Lakshit Rewar 21-16, 21-13.In the U-13 boys singles summit clash, Vedhay Jain downed Mudit Pandey 21-12, 12-21, 22-20 in a long and hard-fought three-game encounter that lasted for about 55 minutes.Padmaja played two finals on Friday and won both. In the U-13 girls singles, Padmaja thrashed Aaradhya Bishnoi 21-6, 21-2 and in the second final – U-17 singles – she beat Advita Sharma 21-10, 21-16 to win the title. In the U-15 boys singles, Tejeshwar Poonia thumped Nikhil Nath 21-12, 21-17 to bag the title.In the U-15 girls singles, the final will be played between Padmaja and Aaradhya Dhingra, while in the U-17 boys singles, Bhavya Agarwal and Satyam Gurjar will vie for the crown on Saturday.The pair of Burauddin and Lakshit Rewar and the pair of Naitik Bansal and Shiv Chauhan reached the U-11 boys doubles final. In the U-13 girls doubles, the pair of Aaradhya Bishnoi and Sagun Tank reached the finals. The duo of Aaradhya and Padmaja entered the U-15 girls doubles finals. The chief guests were Jaipur District Badminton Association vice-president Chartered Accountant Prakash Sharma, Ashok Coloni, Ritu Lohiya and social worker Rajesh Mavewala.Tournament secretary Atul Gupta said that matches of veterans from 55 to 75 years of age were played late on Friday evening.
