Jaipur: The mines department has issued a strict directive to mining lease holders and field offices that dispatch permits (ravannas) will not be issued if lease data is not updated on the department’s online portal by March 31.The move comes after the department found that several offices failed to update essential records on the system despite repeated reminders since May 2025. A senior official said the delay in uploading data related to lease profiles and demand registers had affected the functioning of the department’s digital system.“Due to incomplete records, the portal is unable to automatically generate accurate calculations of dead rent demand and the applicable interest,” an official said, adding that the absence of updated data has slowed down the functioning of several new digital modules being implemented by the department. An internal review revealed that key details related to many mining leases were missing from the portal. “These include critical information such as PAN details of lease holders, royalty schedules, approved mining plans, lease tenure, and environmental clearance (EC). In several cases, Consent to Operate (CTO) certificates and other statutory approvals have also not been uploaded,” said the official. He added, “The absence of this information has created major obstacles in the effective implementation of the department’s online monitoring system.”Taking serious note of the lapse, higher authorities are now directly monitoring the progress of the data updation exercise. “The directorate has informed all field offices that the status of lease profile and demand register updates will be reviewed office-wise in upcoming meetings,” the official said. The department has also circulated a report listing mining leases where “blank data” or incomplete information exists on the portal. Officers have been instructed to immediately contact the lease holders and ensure that the missing details are uploaded.
