Jaipur: Following TOI’s report on how locals have removed median slabs on the Ring Road to gain unauthorised access to the other flank, NHAI blocked the median gap on Wednesday.“We blocked the median gap late on Tuesday itself after we received information from TOI. We were not aware of it. The gap in the median at that location was for diversion of vehicles during emergencies. Perhaps, the locals removed the slabs to make way for vehicles,” said Ajay Arya, project director of NHAI.On Wednesday, TOI reported how two-wheelers and four-wheelers were dangerously switching flanks through the median gap to use makeshift exit and entry ramps that lead to the adjacent Ganga Marg.Officials said they would soon block the gaps in the green verge of the dividers so that two-wheelers also can’t make their way through them. “These gaps were kept for the easy flow of rainwater. We are trying to block these small gaps by tying ropes,” an official said.
