AJMER: The husband was so perturbed with his wife after seven years of marriage and suspected her of talking to someone that on Sunday afternoon, he fabricated a story of loot and murder of his wife while they were returning from Ralawata village to Udaipur Kalan. Police detained the husband on Monday while looking for the accomplices involved in the crime. Additional SP Kishangarh, Deepak Kumar, said, “We are waiting for the post-mortem report and have also detained the husband and are looking for his accomplices.” The husband, Rohit Saini (35), is also a Mandal general secretary of BJP in Kishangarh.Rohit Saini, a resident of Udaipur Kalan village near Kishangarh, went to Ralawata village on Sunday afternoon on the occasion of Rakhi, where his wife Sanju Saini’s relatives reside. When he was returning on a two-wheeler with his wife on Silora road, he narrated that some crooks came on motorcycles, snatched the chain from his wife’s neck, and killed her by slitting her throat. “Rohit, with the help of villagers, reached the Yag Narayan govt hospital in Kishangarh, where Sanju was declared dead, and there was anger in the Mali community who gathered outside the hospital against the crime,” said Bhikha Ram Kala, SHO of Kishangarh city police station.Rohit narrated the story that crooks came on motorcycles, looted them, killed his wife, beat them, and fled away. He took his wife with the help of villagers to the hospital. However, police became suspicious when they found that Rohit did not have serious injuries. “He was changing his statement and also narrated that he took his seriously injured wife on a motorcycle to the hospital, which made us suspicious,” said Deepak Kumar, additional SP Kishangarh.Police detained Rohit on Sunday night after his first aid treatment and started interrogation. On Monday morning, he narrated the whole story. Rohit married Sanju in 2018 and has a daughter who is four years old. On Sunday, they left the daughter alone at Udaipur Kalan village to go to Ralawata village. “Rohit wanted to get rid of his wife, and with his four accomplices, he fabricated the story and killed his wife. He had strained relations with his wife and also suspected her of talking to someone else,” said a police official. Additional SP Deepak added, “We are detaining other accused in this murder case.”
