Jaipur: After spending six days recovering from a medical ordeal that could have proved fatal, Achuki, a 23-year-old new mother who was negligently administered a transfusion with the wrong blood type, was discharged from the state-run Zenana Hospital Friday, reports Intishab Ali.The case of medical negligence occurred on March 22, when doctors erroneously transfused Achuki with ‘A negative’ blood. Her actual blood group was ‘O positive’, on top of which she was never prescribed a transfusion in the first place. The blood bag – number 637 – used in the transfusion was intended for a 27-year-old patient identified as Shilpa.
