Jaipur: A speeding car driven by the minor son of a former Rajasthan minister allegedly crashed into a car at NRI Circle in Pratap Nagar Tuesday, leaving two people injured. The incident took place around 2pm when the minor, accompanied by two others, was driving recklessly through the busy stretch, police said. The complaint, filed by Pulkit Pareek of Indira Gandhi Nagar, stated that he and his friend were on their way when their car was struck from behind by the speeding car. The collision pushed their vehicle into two others, causing extensive damage. Both Pulkit and his friend sustained injuries in the crash.Sources said the car belonged to the family of a former minister and was being driven by his underage son. The trio allegedly fled after the accident, abandoning the vehicle, which was later recovered by police from a nearby residential area.Police sources said that following directions from Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph, an FIR was registered under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 125(A) (negligent acts endangering life or safety) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). “Since the driver is a minor, we cannot reveal his identity,” said an official.Officials added that CCTV footage from the area is being examined to confirm who was driving the vehicle at the time. The case is being probed to determine whether attempts were made to suppress or delay the filing of the report.
