Minister appeals to ineligible pensioners to give up benefits

Jaipur: The state govt Monday appealed to recipients of seven types of social security pensions to voluntarily give them up. Social justice and empowerment minister Avinash Gehlot appealed to ineligible people to relinquish their pensions. Those who do not meet the specified income and age criteria have been asked to give up their pensions. In his appeal, the minister said that the govt is launching a campaign for pension relinquishment. People with an income exceeding Rs 48,000 should give up the elderly and single women pensions. Those with an annual income over Rs 60,000 should voluntarily relinquish the specially abled pension. Additionally, those receiving elderly pensions despite being underage should also give them up. tnn
