Jaipur: Crime branch of the city police Friday arrested two alleged drug traffickers in separate operations in the city and seized MDMA and smack worth over Rs 14.5 lakh.Special commissioner, Om Prakash, has identified the accused as Manoj Vishnoi (27), arrested from a house in Mansarovar with MDMA, and Kamlesh Kumar Barala alias Lakhan (41), held near Sindhi Camp bus stand with smack. Both were allegedly involved in illegal narcotics trafficking.The first action was carried out by the crime branch team under Narayan Vihar police station limits after receiving specific inputs about drugs being stored at a rented accommodation in Shri Balaji Vihar, Golyawas. During the raid, police recovered 52.08 grams of MDMA, categorised as a commercial quantity, along with Rs 10,270, suspected to be proceeds from drug sales. A case under Section 8/22 of the NDPS Act was registered.In the second operation, based on intelligence about a suspicious individual near Platform No 2 of Sindhi Camp bus stand, the team arrested Barala and seized 124.05 grams of smack from his possession. Police registered a case under Sections 8/21 and 8/29 of the NDPS Act at Sindhi Camp police station.Officials said both accused are being questioned to trace supply chains and possible links to larger drug networks operating in and around Jaipur.
