Jaipur: Pratapgarh police have busted an MD (methamphetamine) manufacturing unit and seized chemicals and equipment worth around Rs 50 lakh during a special anti-narcotics drive, officers said Sunday.Police identified the accused as Arbaaz, a resident of Devaldi village, who is absconding.The action was carried out under ‘Operation Trinetra’ by Arnod police station, based on specific intelligence inputs about chemicals being hidden for manufacturing MD.A police team reached a drain area near a graveyard on Devaldi–Paduni road and launched a search. The team found six jerry cans concealed in bushes containing around 46 kg of chemicals, including MDC, hydrochloric acid, ammonia, bromo, acetone and MMA.Police also seized manufacturing equipment including plastic buckets, glass jars, electric heaters, electronic weighing scales, halogen lights and magnetic stirrers.The operation was conducted under the direction of SP B Aditya and supervision of senior officers, with a team led by SHO Shivlal Meena carrying out the raid.A case has been registered at Arnod police station, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the accused. Further investigation into the case is ongoing to identify links to a larger drug network, police added.
