May call senior cop in SI paper leak case: HC

Jaipur: A single judge bench of Rajasthan High Court Justice Sameer Jain Friday said that if needed, the court might call additional director general, ATS and SOG, VK Singh, to know the progress in the investigation of 2021 sub-inspector recruitment paper leak case.Jain said this while hearing a petition on the SI paper leak case.Earlier, AK Sharma, counsel on behalf of the successful candidates in the SI recruitment exam, made his arguments in the case. “The conduct of the petitioners is questionable as they filed a writ petition demanding the cancellation of the exam and later withdrew it. They filed this petition and concealed that they previously filed a similar petition and withdrew it,” Sharma said.“This is a deliberate concealment of facts. It is worth mentioning here that the latest decision of the cabinet sub-committee is not put to challenge. Hence, the petition is infructuous,” Sharma maintained.Sharma said the investigation in the case is in progress and it would be premature to demand the cancellation of the recruitment at this juncture.Earlier, on July 1 the state govt in its stance over the recruitment has already cleared that at this juncture the exam should not be cancelled and had stated that in the investigation so far only 53 candidates out of 838 were found to be tainted.
