Jaipur: An unidentified body of a young man was found in a 10-foot-deep drain in Prem Nagar under Jawahar Circle police station area Monday. Police said that, prima facie, the case appears to be an accident, but they are probing other angles. According to the police, locals spotted the body floating in the dirty drain and alerted the authorities. A team from Jawahar Circle police, assisted by the civil defence team, recovered the body after nearly 30 minutes of effort. The body was sent to a hospital mortuary for post-mortem.“No visible injury marks were found, and the death may have resulted from an accidental fall. However, the exact cause of death will be determined after autopsy. Also, we are working on the identification which will bring more clarity,” said Adtiya Punia, ACP, Malviya Nagar.Efforts are on to identify the deceased and locate his family members. Photographs of the body have been circulated in various police station areas where they are being checked against recent cases of missing person reports.
