Kota: A 55-year-old man was allegedly murdered for robbing his jewellery, and his body was spotted floating in a river Saturday morning.The incident occurred in Vijaynagar village under Namana police station in Bundi district, where Kishanlal Bairwa (55), who ran a grocery shop in his house, was found missing from his room around 6.30am on Saturday. Family members searched for him and later lodged a missing report at Namana police station.Meanwhile, a body was reported floating in the Kurjan river, around 6 kilometres from the village. Police reached the spot, recovered the body and established its identity as Kishanlal Bairwa.The body bore fatal injuries to the skull and was not wearing any jewellery. Family members said the deceased used to wear heavy golden and silver ornaments on his earlobes, neck and wrist, DSP Rajesh Tailor said.According to the family, the deceased went to bed in his room-cum-shop at around 11 pm on Friday night and was found missing in the morning, with his room locked, he said.The DSP did not rule out the possibility of murder for robbery of jewellery, adding that the investigation was underway from all angles, including any past enmity.Family members, accompanied by a few local representatives, staged a demonstration demanding compensation and a government job, refused the post-mortem and blocked the Bundi-Namana route.SDM Talera Laxmikant and police officials reached the spot and assured the demonstrators of assistance as per norms, after which they agreed to the post-mortem later in the afternoon.Police registered a murder case against unidentified persons and sent the body to Bundi district hospital for post-mortem by a medical board, DSP Rajesh Tailor said.
