Man jumps into Nasirabad lake, leaves note seeking family’s forgiveness

Ajmer: A 35-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after jumping into Lal Diggi Lake in Nasirabad town of the district Thursday morning. Before taking the step, he reportedly wrote a message on a stone near the lake, asking his wife and children to forgive him. Police are investigating the matter.According to police, the deceased, identified as Kishan Dhodhani, a resident of Housing Board Colony in Nasirabad, was seen sitting near the lake for some time. A daily wage labourer, he later jumped into the water. A passerby noticed his shoes lying near the lake and alerted the police.Nasirabad Sadar station house officer Pankaj Kumar said a team, along with the NDRF, reached the spot with a boat. “We found his shoes and a stone with a message that read, ‘My wife and my children, please forgive me,'” he said.The deceased is survived by his wife and two daughters, aged 8 and 12. Police and NDRF personnel retrieved the body after nearly an hour of search.The body was sent for postmortem and a case has been registered. The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained. Police are recording statements of family members and neighbours. The stone bearing the message has been sent for forensic examination, officials said.
