Alwar: A Pocso court here Wednesday sentenced a man to 10 years in jail for raping a minor girl who lived in his village. Special public prosecutor Pankaj Yadav said Judge Shilpa Sameer also recommended the district legal services authority to provide Rs 50,000 rupees to the girl under the compensation scheme.Yadav said the girl’s mother reported at Sadar police station on May 18, 2024, that her 17-year-old daughter had gone missing. Police rescued the minor from Nakodar in Jalandhar district of Punjab and arrested her abductor. The accused confessed to police that he had lured the minor and taken her to Punjab, where he raped her. The prosecution presented 17 witnesses and 22 documents in court, the public prosecutor said.
