Jaipur: Education minister Madan Dilawar Sunday announced that Maharana Pratap’s coronation day will be celebrated annually in state schools on Feb 28.Dilawar was speaking at the closing ceremony of the Rashtriya Swadeshi Mahotsav held in Chittorgarh. “Maharana Pratap was coronated on Feb 28, and the education department will include this date in the school calendar and celebrate it in schools so that students can be inspired by the glorious saga and bravery of Maharana Pratap.“He added that historians have greatly insulted Maharana Pratap and portrayed him as inferior to Akbar.“Akbar was an invader, and Maharana Pratap was a brave warrior who gave the Mughals a tough time. Maharana Pratap is not only the pride and glory of Rajasthan but of the whole of India and will always remain memorable and revered,” said Dilawar. The minister made the announcement on the demand of Member of Parliament from Chittorgarh, CP Joshi.
