Kota: Kota Rural Police logged notable crime control and law enforcement in 2025, registering a sharp decline in overall crime and securing top position in Rajasthan in case disposal efficiency.Speaking at a media conference on Friday, Kota (Rural) SP Sujit Shankar claimed Kota Rural Police achieved exceptional results in investigation efficiency in 2025, with 99.83% of registered cases disposed of, the highest disposal rate in the state, leaving pendency at just 2.87%.Kota Rural Police jurisdiction, spreading triangularly across nearly 90 km, witnessed a 15.81% reduction in total cognisable offences compared to 2024, he said. Serious crimes also showed a marked decline, reflecting the impact of proactive policing and focused enforcement drives, he added.Murder cases fell by over 23%, while incidents of attempted murder declined by 8.57%. Cases of kidnapping and abduction dropped sharply by 34.53%, robbery by 54.55%, burglary by 25.76%, and theft by nearly 23%, SP Sujit Shankar noted. Crimes against women also reduced, with overall women-related offences falling by 6%, he added.Under Operation ‘Sudama’, aimed at reuniting missing persons with their families, 150 missing persons were traced and reunited with their families, the SP noted.A WhatsApp group under ‘Operation 5-25′, administered by beat constable with five rogues and 25 civilians from the beat, helped prevent crime with public cooperation, he said.In action against drug trafficking, Rural Police registered 133 cases under the NDPS Act, arresting 195 accused and seizing large quantities of illegal narcotics, including Doda Chura, Ganja, Smack, opium, and Charas. tnn
