Kota: State agriculture minister Kirori Lal Meena, during his interaction with the media in Kota circuit house Friday, assured action against corruption and cheating with farmers along with adequate compensation to them for crop damage.Meena said that through a drone survey the state govt has assessed 100 percent of the crop damage and would compensate and make up to the farmers for all the crop loss. He claimed that the state govt had distributed Rs 1,700 crore to the farmers for crop damage, and an additional, Rs 150 crore would be given to farmers in Kota, who had suffered crop loss. He further said that in the crackdown against fake and poor quality pesticides and fertilisers, 76 FIRs have been registered so far and 18 big fertiliser plants have been sealed. He also added that the licenses of 10 firms had been cancelled after samples of their pesticide and fertilisers failed in the quality test. He also talked about Itawa MLA, Chetan Patel, who went on strike with farmers in order to demand fair compensation for them.Talking about the Anta by-election, Meena said that BJP candidate Morpal Suman, was set to win as ex-CM Vasundhara Raje’s previous development works, particularly in Hadouti – Jhalawar and Baran, would be in mind of the people there.He then went on to talk about corruption and said, “The previous govt took no action on paper leaks, corrupt sub-inspectors, and other such issues. However, the Bhajan Lal govt has put 76 thanedars (inspectors) in jail, and it is the first time in the country that such numbers of police inspectors have been put in jail. Two RPSC members are also in jail at the moment. The govt is taking action, and all those who are guilty will be sent to jail.“
