Jodhpur: Jodhpur Rural Police and the Gujarat ATS busted a drug manufacturing facility on Sunday in the Shergarh area and arrested six persons. The MD drugs unit was unearthed in the deserted sand dunes of Sointara village in Shergarh following intel from the Gujarat ATS. Police also recovered several chemical-filled drums from the factory, which could have been used to produce MD drugs worth around Rs 2 crore. Preliminary information revealed that the drug manufactured here was supplied to a trafficker in Pratapgarh.Police said that the accused used to come to the factory late at night to prepare the drug chemicals and leave before morning. Reportedly, a Gujarat ATS team reached Sirmakhiya village in Balotra in search of wanted accused Monu Ojha early Sunday morning. There, they detained Monu, Govind Singh, and half-a-dozen others who were hiding in a house belonging to one Dunger Singh. During interrogation, both Monu and Govind revealed information about a factory in Sointara village of Shergarh where drugs were being manufactured.Following this information, the Gujarat ATS and Shergarh Police jointly raided the factory and found about half-a-dozen drums filled with chemical substances used in production of MD drugs. Preliminary investigation revealed that main accused Monu Ojha handled the drug manufacturing work. He learned to make MD drugs from the internet. Earlier, he produced MD drugs in Coorg (in the South) and in Gujarat. Normally, MD drugs are produced using machines, but the accused were making MD manually. tnn
