Jaipur: Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) Tuesday sealed four properties in Civil Lines zone over pending urban development tax.Nine properties were taken up for recovery proceedings, of which five owners paid their dues on the spot, generating around Rs 12 lakh in revenue. The remaining four properties were attached and sealed as per rules. Civil Lines divisional commissioner Devanand Sharma said, “During the drive, owners of five properties deposited their outstanding dues. Action of attachment and sealing was taken against the four properties in accordance with the rules. Recovery of the pending amount, along with interest and penalties as prescribed by the state govt, is being ensured.” JMC commissioner Gaurav Saini said the municipal corporation would not show any leniency towards defaulters. “No relaxation will be given in the recovery of pending urban development tax. Attachment and sealing action will continue against those who fail to deposit the tax on time. Revenue collection is essential for carrying out development works in the city,” he said.
