Jhunjhunu: The Jhunjhunu Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Thursday arrested a technical expert of a private consultancy firm working in Surajgarh Municipality, for accepting a bribe in the name of providing benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).According to DSP Shabbir Khan, the complainant, Kailashchandra Sharma, a resident of Surajgarh, had applied for PMAY assistance and already received Rs1 lakh of the total Rs 2.5 lakh sanctioned. For the remaining Rs1.5 lakh, the accused Deepak Kumar Taylor allegedly demanded Rs 40,000 as a bribe.After verifying the complaint, ACB laid a trap. On Thursday morning, when Sharma arrived to hand over Rs10,000 as part of the bribe, Taylor called him to the new bus stand in Surajgarh town. He accepted the amount and reportedly instructed Sharma to pay Rs40,000 when the remaining government funds were released. ACB officers immediately caught Taylor on the spot and took him to Surajgarh Municipality.Taylor, a resident of Jhalawar, is employed by a consultancy firm contracted by the Local Bodies Department, Jaipur, to facilitate PMAY in the region. DSP Khan said that Taylor will be presented in the ACB court in Jhunjhunu.
