Jaipur: Vivek Jain of Jaipur hoisted the Indian flag on Europe’s highest peak Mount Elbrus on Kargil Day (July 26). Mount Elbrus is the highest mountain in Russia and Europe. It is 5,642 metres above sea level, and is the highest volcano in Eurasia, as well as the tenth-most prominent peak in the world.With the help of Rajasthan State Sports Council, Vivek Jain accomplished the feat. Dr Neeraj K Pawan, secretary to government, youth affairs and sports department and chairman, Rajasthan State Sports Council helped Vivek Jain, who was provided financial assistance by the RSSC, which helped him to complete his mission.Vivek, who took training from National Institute of Mountaineering in Pahalgam, Kashmir, said that there are five institutes of mountaineering in India, all of which work under the Army.There are seven contingents in the world. In which the tricolour flag was hoisted on the highest peak. There was a team of 11 people in this expedition, of which he was a member. Sameer Patham, who conquered Mount Everest, had taken this team.Before this, Vivek had conquered the peaks of Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.
