Jahazpur station in-charge shifted for failing to stop illegal mining

Bhilwara: Bhilwara superintendent of police Dharmendra Singh Thursday sent Jahazpur station in-charge Rajkumar Nayak to police lines for negligence in stopping illegal gravel mining and transportation in Banas river area of Jahazpur sub-division in the district.The action followed complaints of illegal gravel mining in the Banas river passing through the Jahazpur area. A special team of Bhilwara police, led by Bhilwara Sadar DSP probationer IPS officer Madhav Upadhyay, conducted a raid on the Banas river Tuesday, seized 13 tractors, three dumpers and five JCB machines, and arrested four drivers. The SP said complaints of illegal mining in the Banas river were being received continuously but Nayak failed to stop them. Command of Jahazpur police station has been handed over to Lokpal Singh, he said. Singh said that illegal gravel mining will not be tolerated under any circumstances in Bhilwara district. Cases were registered against the gravel mafia whose vehicles were seized in Banas river two days ago and investigation was started. Action will also be taken to attach the property of those gravel mafia who have acquired illegal property through gravel mining, he said.
