Bhilwara: A speeding dumper’s collision with an Eco car Thursday afternoon on Bhilwara-Kota national highway (NH) near Bigod town left an 8-month-old infant, his uncle, and the car driver dead, while the infant’s mother and sister were critically injured and are undergoing treatment at a hospital in Udaipur, police said.The accident occurred when the family was travelling from Bhilwara towards Mandalgarh in the Eco car. Bigod police station in-charge Jai Sultan Kaviya said the dumper, coming from the opposite direction, hit the car while overtaking on the highway.He said 8-month-old Nakul and 40-year-old Narayan died on the spot, while the car driver, Bhanu Pratap, died during treatment at Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Bhilwara. Nakul’s 30-year-old mother, Ganiya, and her daughter, Mannu, were in critical condition and were referred to Udaipur.Ganiya, a resident of Meja village in Mandal police station area of Bhilwara district, was going to her parental home in Mandalgarh with her 3-year-old daughter Mannu and 8-month-old son Nakul, along with her 40-year-old brother-in-law Narayan.The front portion of the car was completely damaged, and a long traffic jam occurred on the highway, which police cleared with difficulty to restore traffic flow.Bigod police station personnel reached the accident spot and after postmortems, handed over the bodies to family members. Police seized the dumper and registered a case for investigation.
