Jaipur: The elections for the season 2026-2030 of the Hindustan Box Cricket Federation (HBCF) were held unopposed at the RCA Academy, Sawai Mansingh Stadium here on Friday.This entire election process was conducted under the supervision of Election Officer Anirudh Singh. With the announcement of the election results, the new governing body of the Federation was formed.Dr Ashutosh Pant was unanimously elected as president, Pushpendra Singh Rathore as general secretary, while Ramesh Singh as treasurer.Along with this, Gajendra Singh Rathore, Ashok Kumar Aseri and Dr Aditya Nag were appointed as vice-presidents, Rohit Jhalani and Amit Kumar Khandelwal as joint secretaries. Arun Kumar Singh, Rajnesh Kushwaha Singh and Lakshya Pant were elected as executive members.Various committees were also formed with the aim of strengthening the administrative, technical and competition operations of the Federation.Arun Kumar Singh was unanimously appointed as the chairman of the organising committee, who has been entrusted with the important responsibility of coordinating and conducting the upcoming competitions and events.Additionally, Akhil Garg was appointed in-charge of the Referee Board, which will administer the umpiring and refereeing system in accordance with international rules.Harshit Yadav was appointed the Chairman of the Selection Committee and Technical Committee. Whereas Mohit Sharma and Hitesh Sharma were made the Vice President of the Selection Committee, who have been given the important role of selection and evaluation of players as per the predetermined responsibilities.KK Pradhan was appointed as the Director of the Tournament Committee, which will plan and monitor state and national level competitions.Aqeel Ahmed was made the chairman of the Tournament Arrangement Committee, who has been given the responsibility of arrangements for the competitions, grounds, logistics and event management.The Federation also clarified that the posts and committee members which are still remaining. The authority to appoint them has been unanimously given to the President and the General Secretary, so that the organizational work can be completed quickly and effectively as per the requirement.The Federation said that Box Cricket is a modern and organised format of cricket, which is conducted as per the official Rule Book issued by the International Box Cricket Federation (IBCF).This game is played in a limited and net-enclosed ground, which makes the game fast, safe and time-bound. There are 11 players per team, of which 8 players play on the field and 3 are reserves.The use of soft or tennis balls ensures the safety of the players, making the game suitable for players of all age groups.According to the IBCF rulebook, box cricket is divided into three major categories – male category, female category and mixed category.Participation of both male and female players is mandatory in the mixed category, in which there must be a minimum of 6 male and 5 female players. It aims to promote gender equality, participation and inclusivity in sport.Hindustan Box Cricket Federation, under the leadership of the newly formed executive committees, aims to give box cricket a strong identity at the national and international level.To provide an organised sports platform to the youth and develop the sport in a completely professional format.On the success of the elections, the members of the Federation, players and sports lovers congratulated the newly elected leadership and wished a bright future for Box Cricket.
