HC notice to govt over ex-RPSC head’s appeal

Jaipur: A division bench of Rajasthan high court Thursday issued notices to the state govt, the Special Operations Group (SOG) and private parties, including Kailash Chandra Sharma, in connection with the appeal filed by former RPSC chairman Sanjay Shrotriya. The next hearing is scheduled on Nov 24.Shrotriya’s appeal seeks removal of disparaging and scathing remarks made against him by a single bench on Augt 28 which recommended the cancellation of the SI Recruitment 2021 exam. The single bench raised allegations of irregularities against Shrotriya and other RPSC members, suggesting systemic issues in the recruitment process. Advocate Yuvraj Samant, representing Shrotriya, argued that the remarks were passed without giving him a chance to be heard. “The appellant was never named in any FIR or charge-sheet. No investigation is pending, and the SOG never made us accused,” he said. Acting Chief Justice S P Sharma and Justice BS Sandhu issued notices to the state govt, the SOG, and 21 others, including Kailash Chandra Sharma, the petitioner in the original single bench order.
