HC demands govt action on rising road accidents

Jaipur/Jodhpur: Expressing concern over rising road accidents in Rajasthan, both the Jaipur and Jodhpur benches of the Rajasthan high court Tuesday sought govt response to address the issue. The Jaipur bench, led by acting chief justice Sanjeev Prakash Sharma and justice BS Sandhu, directed the Union and state govts to submit a detailed report by Nov 6 on the implementation of the Road Safety Policy and other safety measures. This follows a tragic accident near Harmada in Jaipur that resulted in 13 deaths. The Jodhpur bench, comprising justice Anuroop Singhi and justice PS Bhati, sought a preliminary response from the state govt on improving road safety regulations. Both benches emphasised the urgent need for effective measures to prevent further loss of life.
