GRP traces missing siblings to Lucknow after 10-mth search

Jaipur: Two minor sisters who went missing from the Jaipur railway station nearly 10 months ago were traced to a girls’ shelter home in Lucknow. The siblings, aged 14 and 5, boarded a train after a quarrel with their mother and ended up travelling across cities before being rescued. A senior GRP (Ajmer) official said the girls, found safe, were reported missing on the night of Oct 18, 2024, when their mother, a resident of Lucknow, came to Jaipur with her husband and children for work. The couple, who deal in the trade of gemstones and rings, were staying near Hasanpura Gate No 1 of Jaipur railway station.According to the complaint, the woman briefly stepped out around 11pm to fetch food. When she returned, both daughters—who were waiting at the platform—were gone. GRP immediately registered a case of kidnapping and launched a search, scanning CCTV footage and conducting raids at railway and bus stations across several cities. A reward of Rs 25,000 was also announced.
