Jaipur: Former CM Ashok Gehlot criticised the Raj govt for “mismanagement” at the state-level Independence Day celebration in Jodhpur on Friday. He said media reports indicated that over 15 children were hospitalised due to dehydration during the event. “According to reports from Jodhpur, the state-level Independence Day celebration organised by the state govt faced mismanagement, causing difficulties for the public,” he said. Parliamentary affairs minister Jogaram Patel, responding to Gehlot’s statement, said the former CM should have participated in the Independence Day programme in Jodhpur, but he preferred to engage in politics. “Making headlines through politics is an old habit of his,” Patel said. The minister described the road accident in which a child died as unfortunate. tnn
