Jaipur: Four persons—a young married couple and a father and son—were killed and two others injured when a speeding Thar SUV rammed into multiple bikes on NH-52 near a culvert in Chomu on the outskirts of Jaipur early Wednesday.Chomu SHO Pradeep Sharma said the Thar hit three motorcycles in succession, killing one rider on the spot and leaving six others critically injured. “The impact was severe; the bikes were completely mangled,” Sharma said.The injured were first rushed to the govt hospital in Chomu, from where they were referred to SMS Hospital in Jaipur. Despite doctors’ efforts, three of the injured, including a woman, died during treatment. Two others continue to battle for life at SMS Hospital.Police identified the deceased as Virendra Shrivastava, a native of Banaras currently residing at Vaidhji ka Chauraha in Jaipur, and his son Sunil Shrivastava; and Lucky (30), resident of Brajwadi Colony of Jaipur, and his wife Shweta Shrivastava (26).Those injured were identified as Avinash (30) and his son Raunak. Police have seized the Thar and launched a search for the driver, who fled the spot. The vehicle is believed to have been travelling from Sikar towards Jaipur.
