Jaipur: The Goa-Delhi Akasa Air flight, diverted to Jaipur, was delayed for over 12 hours due to flight duty time limitations for the crew, the airline said.“Akasa Air flight QP 1629, scheduled to operate from Goa to Delhi on July 9, 2025, was diverted to Jaipur due to inclement weather conditions. Upon arrival in Jaipur, flight duty time limitations were required to be applied to the assigned crew. As a result, they were unable to proceed with the flight in compliance with mandatory safety regulations,” a spokesperson from Akasa Air said on Friday. The flight, which was diverted to Jaipur on Wednesday evening, departed only on Thursday 6.42pm and landed in Delhi at 7.38pm.TOI had reported how the passengers were made to wait inside the aircraft, after which a hotel was arranged for them. However, they complained on social media platform X that they were made to stay in “unhygienic conditions”.“The crew and airport teams kept passengers informed throughout and extended all necessary assistance, including refreshments, to minimise their discomfort. Hotel accommodation was arranged, and ground transport to Delhi was provided to those who opted for them,” the spokesperson said.“Passenger safety and well-being remain topmost priority”, the airline said, adding they regret the inconvenience caused due to weather conditions.
