Jaipur: A fire broke out in an apartment flat in Ramnagaria police station area Monday evening after a diya (lamp) left burning after housewarming prayers triggered a blaze.The incident occurred in flat number 903 on the 9th floor of an 11-storey building called Bhavya Green.Chandrabhan Singh, SHO Ramnagaria, said, “The flat owner, Deepak Maheshwari, and his family just performed prayers after entering their newly purchased home for the first time. They later went out, leaving the diya lit inside, which is suspected to have caused the fire.”A team from Ramnagaria police station moved out all occupants of the multi-storey building while firefighters doused the flames.The fire was doused with the sprinkler system of the housing society. No injuries or loss of life were reported. However, the fire caused extensive damage to the apartment, with furniture, air conditioners, and other household items reduced to ashes. tnn
