Ajmer: Police’s CID wing in Ajmer Wednesday registered an FIR against a woman from Thailand and a hotel owner in Pushkar under the Immigration and Foreigners Act of 2025. Additional SP (CID) Rajesh Meena said as per the directive of state govt and police headquarters, a campaign against foreign tourists illegally residing in the district is underway. He said it came to light that in Pushkar, a Thai woman, Kanyaphat Noenhong, arrived to stay at Muskmelon Hotel and Resort on Feb 1. The hotel management, while filing her online C-form, provided wrong details of her visa to hide the fact of her illegal stay. The CID found that the visa number provided by the hotel was of a tourist from Uganda.Meena said that police’s preliminary investigation found that the Thai woman was overstaying in India for the last two years without a visa, and that the hotel owner intentionally hid this fact.Meena said an FIR had been registered at Pushkar police station and warned of action against anyone helping foreign tourists live illegally in the district.
