FIR against private college owner for threatening VC of university in Ajmer

Ajmer: The Civil Lines Police Station here late Sunday night registered an FIR against the owner of a private college in Tonk district for threatening Vice Chancellor of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University (MDSU), Suresh Kumar Agarwal, to allow a subject to be taught in his college. As per the allegations, the owner of the private college regularly threatened the VC and also sent him messages. On Monday, MDSU Employees Association condemned such incidents and came out in support of the VC, demanding an investigation into discrepancies in private college.According to Civil Lines Police Station, Deputy Registrar of MDSU, Kailash Chand Sharma, filed a complaint stating that the owner of the private college in Niwai, Tonk district, called the VC and asked for a recommendation to add one subject to be taught in his college. However, the VC turned down the request, leading to threats by the college owner. When the VC stopped receiving his calls, the college owner started sending messages. Agarwal told him, “Everything in the university is according to norms,” the accused started abusing him, according to the report. ASI of Civil Lines Police Station, Bheem Singh, said that the FIR was registered under sections related to the use of indecent language, insult, and criminal threatening, and an investigation was initiated. Former President of the employees association, Dilip Sharma, said the university supports the VC.
