Jaipur: The fifth edition of Kisan Golf Cup will be held on March 14 and 15 here at the Rambagh Golf Club.Addressing the media here on Wednesday, Kisan Cup coordinator Jaswant Meel said that after the success of four previous editions, this year’s tournament is eagerly awaited by the golfers of not only Rambagh Golf Club but also other golf clubs.Around 240 men, women and budding golfers will participate in this two-day competition played on stable ford format in various categories 0 to 9, 10 to 18 and 19 to 24 handicap categories.On the first day, Saturday, matches will be held in the veteran, senior veteran, women, 19 to 24 handicap, and professional golfer categories. On Sunday, matches will be held in the 0 to 9 and 10 to 18 handicap sections.According to co-ordinator Rajkumar Nain, trophies will be awarded to the winner and runner-up of each handicap category, as well as the winners of straightest drive, nearest to the pin, and longest drive. There will also be attractive prizes for all four-ball finishes on each hole, including a racing bicycle for hitting the basket on hole number 10 in a single shot.Media in-charge Dr Devendra Kumar said that a dozen pro golfers will participate on the first day of the competition, including Vishal Singh, Ghulam Mohammad, Kamal Kumawat, Yogendra Kumawat, Mahesh Kumawat, Abhyudaya Rawat, Rishiraj Singh, Deependra Singhal and women pro golfer Iiti Chaudhary are prominent.The t-shirt for the competition was also unveiled in the presence of Kisan Cup coordinator Jaswant Meel, life patron Dr RS Chaudhary, co-coordinator Rajkumar Nain, and media in-charge Dr Devendra Kumar, Rambagh Golf Club captain and treasurer Giriraj Agarwal and member Sunil Singh Shekhawat. Tournament tee-off will be Saturday at 7 am.
