Jaisalmer: Pokhran ADJ Court in Jaisalmer sentenced five accused to life imprisonment and fined each of them Rs 20,000 on Thursday for the murder of a man suspected of having an illicit relationship.Additional district public prosecutor Samandar Singh Rathore, representing the state, said the court sentenced five members of the same family to life imprisonment for the murder. Judge Mahendra Kumar Goyal delivered the verdict, sentencing three men and two women to life imprisonment and imposing a fine of Rs 20,000 on each.On May 14, 2022, Bhawaruram, reported to Nachna police station that his brother Dinaram disappeared on May 10 without notice. The family suspected that Dinaram had a relationship with Dhanni, the wife of Omprakash, which led to his disappearance. Based on the report, the police began an investigation. During a rigorous interrogation, Dhanni’s father, Bhakhararam, confessed to the murder, stating that the family killed Dinaram due to his relationship with their daughter and disposed of the body in the forest. During the investigation, Bhakhararam admitted to the crime when questioned strictly by the police. He led the police to the mutilated body. The police arrested the main accused, Dhanni, her father Bhakhararam, mother Samda, and brothers Premkumar and Banshilal, and filed charges against them. After a lengthy trial, the ADJ Court found all five guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment with a fine of Rs 20,000 on each.
