Jaipur: Director of Secondary Education Sita Ram Jat Friday conducted a surprise inspection of schools in Jaipur district on the first day of the enrolment drive for the 2026–27 academic session and initiated action against six officials for laxity.During inspections in Chaksu, it was found that the chief block education officer, Sanganer Rural, had convened a meeting at Govt Senior Secondary School, Bhambhoriya, from 8.30am to 5pm, despite clear instructions for staff to carry out a door-to-door survey.Officials said the meeting kept several principals occupied, disrupting the first half of the admission drive. The director ordered that a proposal be sent to the govt recommending the officer’s suspension and initiation of disciplinary proceedings.At Govt Senior Secondary School, Vatika, principal Sarika Singhal was found absent as she was attending the meeting, while staff were not properly briefed about the enrolment campaign. Four teachers from other schools were also found absent on other duties.At Kumhariyawas, two panchayat assistants were found absent for a prolonged period on the pretext of BLO duty and were ordered to be suspended. Another teacher, Giriraj Sahu, faced action for proceeding on census duty against instructions. At a govt school in Titariya, principal Shashibala Sapra was reprimanded for failing to prepare a concrete plan for Praveshotsav.
