Jaipur: The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) finally got a new chairman after governor Haribhau Bagde appointed director general of police (DGP) Utkal Ranjan Sahoo to the post on Tuesday. The appointment came after a 10-month vacancy following the end of former chairman Sanjay Shrotriya’s tenure on Aug 1, 2024.Anti-corruption bureau (ACB) DG Ravi Prakash Meharda has been given additional charge as the DGP till the state govt finalises the new chief. Sahoo, a 1988-batch IPS officer from Odisha who served as Rajasthan DGP from Feb 11, 2024, had applied for voluntary retirement ahead of taking up his new role. tnn
