Jaipur: Courts in Nagaur and Bikaner districts received bomb threats through emails Thursday, prompting police to evacuate the premises and conduct search operations, officials said.Police said the district court in Nagaur received an email claiming that bombs would explode at 2 pm on the court premises.Following the threat, police and security agencies reached the court complex and evacuated the premises as a precautionary measure before launching a search operation, they said.SP Nagaur Mridul Kachawa said that no suspicious item was found and the police conducted a security sweep of the court premises.“No suspicious object was found during the search, and further investigation is under way,” he said.Officials said the email, received on the court’s official ID on Thursday morning, warned that the bombs were planted using drones and claimed the impact could extend up to a 1.75 km radius.Meanwhile, a similar bomb threat was also received at the district and sessions court in Bikaner, following which police carried out a thorough search of the Lunkaransar court premises.A police team also inspected the court and evacuated staff from the building as part of the precautionary exercise. Officials said the inspection was carried out under security protocols and nothing suspicious was found during the search.“We followed the standard operating procedure in the matter, but nothing suspicious was found during the security search. The investigation is under way to track down the sender of the threat email,” said an official, adding that the police are also seeking help from the cyber crime branch of the Rajasthan Police.
