Jaipur: The Congress decided to appoint 200 observers to train its booth level agents in all the assembly constituencies ahead of the Special Intensive Review (SIR) programme scheduled to begin on Nov 4.The objective behind the appointment of observers is to ensure that no legitimate voter in the state is left out during the SIR programme and their names are included in the draft roll, which will be published on Dec 9.“Whether it is the Anta bypoll or SIR, we won’t let them steal votes. We’ve appointed booth level agents at all booths for SIR. The election department was talking about providing two days of training to agents, but no Congress agent has been informed yet. It was their duty to inform them. They are not being provided with training by the Election Commiccion. But we decided to train them for the SIR programme. Therefore, we appointed 200 observers for all the assembly constituencies who will monitor the training of agents,” said PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasra Friday. The training of the booth level officers conducted by the election department for the SIR programme will continue till Nov 3.“This time, every voter has been asked for a fresh photograph during the SIR exercise. They should have a provision where the BLO should click their photos and upload them digitally. Where will the voters living in villages and hamlets get their photos clicked? The Election Commission should consider this,” said Dotasra.
