Jaipur: Leader of the Opposition Tikaram Jully Wednesday termed Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s support for the VB-G RAM G Act as a stab in the back of Rajasthan’s rural environment and its poor. “It is ironic that Sharma, who started his political journey from the panchayati raj system, has today become the brand ambassador of a scheme that strangles the very rights of gram sabhas,” he said. “This is not just political opportunism, but a historic betrayal of rural democracy.”Jully said it was the state’s misfortune that the CM, despite coming from a rural background, was speaking the language of the BJP’s high command. “Instead of protecting Rajasthan’s interests, he has become a mere messenger of New Delhi,” he said.
