Jaipur: Chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Thursday flagged off 207 new buses of Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation (RSRTC) on the occasion of Rajasthan Day to enhance connectivity in rural areas of the state. The fleet includes 100 blue line buses, 28 AC and 79-star line.Sharma said, “The govt is making continuous efforts to provide safe, accessible, and modern transportation facilities to the public. The induction of these new buses will provide passengers with better and more comfortable travel experiences, while simultaneously strengthening the roadways network,” said Sharma. Officials said that these buses were made with the latest safety standards. The CM also distributed helmets to 700 women, designating them as ‘Road Safety Ambassadors.’ He interacted with the women and encouraged them to strictly adhere to traffic rules. Deputy chief minister Prem Chand Bairwa, who is also the transport minister, said, “Our govt firmly believes it is imperative to provide improved transportation facilities to people residing in the remote and rural areas of the state. The operation of these new buses will facilitate easier commuting in those regions where public transportation options have historically been limited.”
