Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Monday sanctioned stronger punishment in two cases involving an IPS officer after consultation with the UPSC.The govt cleared more than 50 cases linked to prosecution sanction, Section 17-A approvals, and departmental inquiries. In 23 serious cases under CCA Rule-16, 27 state officers were punished with the stoppage of 2 to 4 pay increments with cumulative effect.Prosecution sanction was granted against a former SDM and two officers from the PWD and Women and Child Development department for allegedly giving illegal benefits to private individuals. A former Krishi Upaj Mandi Samiti secretary was dismissed after a court conviction, while another officer was removed from service for long absence.An inquiry under Section 17-A was approved against a former development officer for misuse of position, irregular payments, and causing financial loss. Pension was withheld in five cases involving retired officers.
