Alwar: A civil defence worker climbed onto a water tank in Alwar city Thursday, protesting irregularities in duty allotment and alleging corruption by officials. The incident occurred in front of Forest Minister Sanjay Sharma’s residence, creating tension in the area. The protester, identified as Bhanu Prakash Sharma, claimed that despite his turn in rotation, he was denied duty while others were being favoured for longer periods. He accused ADM’s personal assistant, Bhuvnesh Sharma, of corruption, alleging that some workers were assigned up to eight months of duty while he got only two. Bhanu held the administration responsible if anything happened to him. On receiving information, Kotwali police officers and civil defence officials rushed to the spot. Tehsildar Rashmi Sharma also arrived and persuaded Bhanu to come down after a long effort. He was later taken to Kotwali police station for questioning. The Tehsildar expressed displeasure at the absence of Kotwali SHO Naresh Sharma and termed it serious negligence. Meanwhile, ADM’s PA Bhuvnesh Sharma denied the allegations, saying duty was assigned as per rules.tnn
