Alwar: Sadar police here Thursday arrested a candidate for allegedly cheating by hacking the computer during the Delhi Police Driver Recruitment Exam conducted through Staff Selection Commission (SSC).The accused identified as Surendra Saini, a resident of Bardod village in Kotputli-Behror district, who had come to give the exam Wednesday at MITRC College in Chikani, Alwar. Police investigation has also revealed that the accused had made a deal for approximately Rs 7 lakh to wrongfully pass the exam. During the exam, the computer mouse in the online system started moving on its own and answers to questions began getting clicked automatically. The observer present in the examination hall became suspicious of this unusual activity. When the observer asked the candidate about the problem, he denied any issue. After this, he was asked to remove his hand from the mouse, which made it clear that the mouse was moving on its own and questions were being solved automatically. The observer immediately informed Sadar police station. After this, the candidate’s seat was changed and he was made to sit at another place. After the examination ended, police took the candidate to the police station, where several important revelations emerged during interrogation. It is alleged that before the examination, information about the candidate’s photo, attire and even shoes were taken from him. After this, the computer system at the examination centre was hacked and answers to questions were being entered by an external person. Police have taken the accused on three-day remand and interrogation is ongoing.
