Jaipur: PCC president Govind Singh Dotasra Friday claimed that the RSS has established a stronghold in Rajasthan, effectively ruling the state. He accused BJP-RSS of turning the state into a Union Territory, where nothing can happen without the Centre’s wishes. He criticised the state BJP govt, suggesting it has become a mere facade while accusing a ‘Gujarat lobby’ working in New Delhi and ‘contractors with parchis from Delhi’ of taking control over Rajasthan’s political and administrative framework. “A minister raised questions about such a contract but later forgot. I can count 20 such examples where several ministers raised questions about contracts being awarded in the state,” said Dotasra while briefing mediapersons at the PCC headquarters. Dotasra emphasised that the state’s autonomy was being undermined by the influence of the RSS and called for accountability in governance. “Rajasthan is a state of the Indian Union, but BJP-RSS has turned it into something like a union territory. The members of the Sangh are ruling the state as if the public has elected and sent them. BJP’s government exists only in name. RSS has established its control and dominance over the govt,” said Dotasra. “It appears as if RSS has snatched away the state’s autonomy; rule of control is running in the state in place of democracy. Conditions have become such that no work happens here without the Centre’s permission; bureaucracy is also completely dominant,” he added. “Whether it’s the chief minister or the ministers, even if they say anything legitimate, their words are not heard,” he said. “Collectors don’t even pick up ministers’ calls. When ministers go to districts, not even five people come to meet these ministers at circuit houses. Their workers have lost hope in them; they can’t get their work done,” said Dotasra. “BJP is capturing govts by stealing votes, agencies are being misused and a situation like ‘undeclared emergency’ exists in the state.”He said, “Earlier, police headquarters and DG used to have authority, everyone worked under their directions. Previously, there used to be one DGP, but now one DG is placed over another, due to which the law and order situation in the state has worsened. The CM is responsible for this. They have appointed a commissioner and a special commissioner. What will the special commissioner do now?”
