Jaipur: The state BJP Friday directed the presidents of its nine frontal organisations to assist people facing difficulties due to the ongoing LPG supply disruption and to help ensure that cooking gas reached consumers without major disruption.Party leaders said workers were asked to coordinate with local authorities and distribution agencies so that households, particularly needy consumers, continued to receive LPG cylinders during the supply crunch. BJP cadres were also instructed to keep watch on possible incidents of hoarding or black marketing of LPG cylinders and report them to authorities. State BJP president Madan Rathore accused the Congress of spreading panic among people by making what he termed “misleading” claims about a shortage of LPG, fuel and essential commodities in the state. “There is no shortage of gas, oil or food items in the state. The Congress is spreading false information and creating an atmosphere of fear among people, which is its old political style,” Rathore said in a statement. He added that the state govt reviewed the supply situation and directed officials to ensure smooth distribution. According to Rathore, more than 61 lakh families in Rajasthan are receiving LPG cylinders at Rs 450 under the state govt’s scheme, and refiners were asked to increase production as a precautionary measure. Responding to statements made by Congress leaders, including state party chief Govind Singh Dotasra and Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully, Rathore said opposition leaders were making allegations without verifying facts. “Congress leaders try to find political opportunities even during crises. Instead of cooperating in challenging situations, they attempt to scare people for political gains,” he said. Rathore said that while global tensions involving Iran, Israel and the United States created supply-chain challenges, the impact in India remained limited due to the Centre’s preparedness.
