Jaipur: To counter Congress’s 45-day ‘MGNREGA Bachao Sangram’ agitation, BJP Saturday launched a campaign in support of Viksit Bharat–Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Grameen) Act (VB-G RAM G). The party has deployed at least 10 state ministers, along with senior party leaders, to visit regions where the Congress has a strong organisational presence. The campaign includes public meetings, interacting with beneficiaries, and defending the govt’s decision to replace the MGNREGA with the new employment-guarantee.BJP state president Madan Rathore questioned why Congress was uncomfortable with the word “Ram” in the scheme’s name. “If the name of Ram appears in the scheme, why does the Congress object? In fact, Congress should thank us,” Rathore said. “Employment that was earlier limited to 100 days is now increased to 125 days, and to 150 days in tribal areas.”He added, “We will expose every myth and lie spread by the Congress, and we will do it more aggressively than their campaign, by taking facts directly to the people.”Cabinet minister Jogaram Patel also accused Congress of misleading people about the new law. tnn
