Jhunjhunu: The Kotwali police in Jhunjhunu Sunday arrested three members of a motorcycle theft gang and recovered 11 stolen motorcycles from them. Police received information that theft gang members were roaming in Jhunjhunu city, looking to dispose of stolen motorcycles.Superintendent of police Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay said that to curb the ongoing bike theft incidents, a special team was formed under station house officer Harjinder Singh.The team worked for a month, activating informants and analysing incidents in various districts. On Sunday, the police team apprehended three youths on a bike near Guda Road, Vaishali Nagar.Police detained Deepak, Sachin, and Vikas and they revealed that they had hidden 10 to 11 previously stolen motorcycles at the base of a hill on Malsisar Road.The recovered motorcycles indicate that other associates are active, and more incidents might be uncovered. The suspects confessed to 15 to 20 incidents in Jhunjhunu, Sikar, and Jaipur Rural. Police reviewed around 300 CCTV footage clips to apprehend the suspects.
