Bhiwadi police arrest 60 Bangladeshi nationals in major search operation

Alwar: In a search operation led by Bhiwadi superintendent of police (SP) Jyeshtha Maitreyi, 60 Bangladeshi nationals were apprehended Monday. The operation was conducted in all police station areas under the Bhiwadi SP’s jurisdiction, including Bhiwadi, Tapukara, Khushkhera, Tijara, and nearby industrial areas. Of the 60 individuals detained, 25 are men, 24 women, and 11 children.
Raids and search operations took place in Bhiwadi Phoolbagh, Bhiwadi Phase-3, Chaupanki, Khushkhera, Tapukara, Tijara, Sheikhpur Ahir, and Jairali police station areas. The action was based on intelligence inputs and informant tips, officers said.
Bhiwadi ASP Atul Sahu said interrogations have revealed that Bangladeshi nationals reside in Delhi-NCR to work as labour on low wages. He said these Bangladeshis travel through Kolkata to Delhi, then reach Bhiwadi and the NCR region. They mainly take up work of waste picking, working in dumping yards, or minor street labour. They frequently change locations – sometimes Bhiwadi, sometimes Gurgaon or Dharuhera – making identification by police difficult, Sahu said.
SP Maitreyi said she has appealed to business organisations and local residents to ensure police verification of their employees and tenants. She said further action against Bangladeshi nationals will be taken based on orders from the state govt and home ministry.
